After gathering information on movers in the valley and in the Central / East states over the after the past 35years .  I’ve come to conclusion that there is a big difference in finding the best movers in Arizona. 

So, let me explain a few things. For example Just like when your looking for electrician . There’s the  certified electrician and then there’s a journeyman. Or  Even looking for a  Doctor. There your MD & there PA. So the difference is degree and experience. Well, you may not think there’s a no comparison for a moving company to know how to pack, load and move furniture. Well there is for sure a difference, your average mover just wants to get your items on the truck with no care at all. It just a job and a pay check. There is a technically way to move furniture and pack items into the truck. I call an expert movers , “moving engineer “ of packing , loading and moving furniture. 

I’ve seen a lot of movers over the past 35yrs in the Central/Eastern States  and in Arizona. Boy , there is a Big difference With the professionalism and quality movers in Western states including Arizona. Some of the AZ  movers seem to want to dolly everything including antiquities. There’s even a saying in West States, “ If it don’t roll, It don’t-go” Oh My! Don’t get me wrong there’s times when you need to dolly furniture . Like when there’s a long walk, very heavy furniture pieces, washer, dryer, refrigerator and boxes.  I’ve even seen a movers dolly furniture down stairs at apartment complex. Why in the world 🌎 would you put furniture through the stress on ever dumb down the stairs case. Just carry the furniture with another experienced mover down the stairs. It less stress on the furniture and It shows the customer you care for their furniture. 

I’ve ask a few so called professional movers in Phoenix, why don’t you use a hump strap on that piece of furniture. Most of them don’t know what a hump strap is used for,  Hump  strap come in handy with tall pieces of furniture, mattress,and much more. It’s easy way to maneuver a piece of furnitures , especially with weight.

Let’s talk about shrink wrap vs padded up furniture. Most consumers don’t know that shrink wrap does nothing to protect your furniture from scratches or dents, The only thing shrink wrap is good for is white furniture pieces from getting dirt. And Some fragile pieces with glass on sides or mirrored furniture.  It’s best to protect the glass with cardboard  than pad the piece and shrink wrap after. Most of the moving companies in Phoenix area use it for many reason. 

The biggest reason is to keep the jars closed. When dolly the pieces to the truck.

 Nope, that’s not acceptable. 

The correct way is to carry and tilt the pieces back on angel to the keep jars from opening or you could use rubber bands around the jars. Which most moving companies don’t have on there trucks. 

Another reason to shrink wrap is to charge then customer extra plus it take extra time, so it’s wasting your money.

Lastly, loading the truck correctly. Loading for a local move vs long long distance move. It’s common to load different based on the situation. An Expert movers will always load with base that means with Heavy items on bottom , kinda like put a puzzle together. Heavy items a bottom and getting light items and fragile pieces at the top of the load. Non experienced movers think loading boxes first is best. Nope boxes needed to be place throughout the load so everything will fit in one load. Than non experienced movers though in large pieces at the end and sometimes run out of room. Loading Long distance moving furniture onto the truck. Most over the road professional movers pad the furniture in the house sometimes even padding & shrink wrapped leather chairs, rubber bands leave and indent on leather furniture and shrink wrap straight on leather is a No ,No too. With heat Shrink wrap will adhesive to the furniture.

These hours don’t include extra hours for stairs, elevator, long walk,tight conditions , disassembling and reassembling. Most moving companies have a service charge, trip fee, travel fee, this should cover: gas, insurance, truck and the crew to get to & from your location.

These hours are based on a simple moves and 10mile radius to and from locations.

There’s many cheap companies that will charge extra for stairs, elevator ,long walks ,disassembling and reassembling, weekends,

Shrink wrap and tape to protect your furniture (Hello) furniture should be padded with pads,(moving blankets) Not Shrink wrap. Shrink wrap is only good for white furniture pieces.

 Than there’s some moving companies that charge a fuel fee charge for mileage all that should be included in your service charge.

1. Start off with the right supplies
Avoid multiple trips to the store by setting yourself up with a full inventory of packing supplies.

• Tissue paper or blank newsprint (newspaper ink can stain)
• Plastic zip-top bags for collecting small items together
• Strong packing tape

• 3. Know your boxing basics
  Think you know how to pack a box correctly? Consider these tips to make sure:
  
  • For anything breakable, pack the bottom of the box with a bunched  layer of paper for Cushion in the bottom for protection ,Be sure to stuff it into the corners.
  • Choose the right boxes for the right items. Heavier items -- like books and tools -- should go in smaller boxes. Lighter items -- like towels and clothes -- can go in big boxes.
  • Don't leave unnecessary space at the top of boxes -- they could collapse when stacked , so bunched  layers of paper at the top to keep the box full and for an extra cushion.
  • Packing Pictures, mirrors, flat glass , keep box flat like an envelope and tape the bottom of the box securely, bunch paper into a roll and  place at the bottom of the box and bubble wrap the picture and slide it into the box topping with another layer bunched of paper and tape box securely on the top it should be flat like an envelope when completed. 
  • Packing plates and flat dishes. Bunch paper and put in the bottom of the box for Cushion. Bubble wrap each picture or paper wrap each picture placing them into the box vertically & never flat. And top with more bunched paper at the end for more cushion , never leave the box room at the top to collapsed or cave in. 
  • Glasses ,wine glasses & coffee cups , Bunch paper at the bottom of the box for cushion and wrap each glass with two pieces of pack or bubble wrap .   Keep each glass in upright position , Never laying them on their sides. Cushion the top of lots of paper at top , never leave room at the top of box to collapse or Cave in. 
  • Avoid mixing items from different rooms in different boxes. It will make unpacking a lot easier.
  • Once you've filled and taped up your box securely, immediately label it clearly -- before you forget what's inside!
  • 
    
  4. Think outside of the box -- literally
  Get creative and make sure you're using everything at your disposal when packing up your home. For instance:
  • Pack your clothes in suitcases, laundry hampers, baskets and any other carriers you have around the house.
  • Save money on bubble wrap by using towels, washcloths and even clothes to pack breakable items like glasses and dishware.
  5. Create an inventory
  A home inventory is a smart thing to have for insurance purposes whether you're moving or not, but it just so happens that moving is a great time to put one together if you haven't already. As you pack your belongings, make a list of your most valuable items, and photograph them as well. This will protect your belongings in case of accident or theft.
  6. Pack a first-night bag
